If you're concerned about wild yeast, you can use the starter method to keep your yeast reproducing. I found corn, and potatoes are good compliments for lentil proteins. 2 cups lentils, 1 cup corn meal, 1 died yam. 5 cups water. 12 oz can tomato sauce. 14 oz can kernel corn 4 cloves garlic. 1 onion diced. 2 teaspoons each of basil, oregano, chili powder. 2 tablespoon olive oil. Put everything in a rice cooker, stir, turn on rice cooker. Check rice cooker after 10 minutes, stir, continue cooking until lentils are tender. I think this is delicious, but dont have any victims to cook for and verify.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7694156048670349907.post-5028996875328104882011-10-28T16:00:19.772-04:002011-10-28T16:00:19.772-04:00There are recipes for cream of....whatever soup on...There are recipes for cream of....whatever soup on prepper sites and the internet. They are, however, extremely expensive in the short-term. I'm saving up money to get them. I use vintage jars whenever possible to store dry goods - there's no BPA in a glass lid - but the supply of these is limited.

Weighing all things, home-canning is still an incredible improvement over using commercially-canned food where the BPA is throughout the jar. They think we North Americans are incredibly dirty for only wiping ourselves with paper. They keep a small cup beside the toilet and rinse themselves with water, while wiping with their hand. They then dry with a towel. Since their homeland is desert-dry and hot, I think that system must be sustainable even in a drought. (Not that I know much about drought living. Canada has three things in abundance - rocks and trees and water!)

Mr. Doom and I have been talking about going to Family Cloth, which is an option I don't think you mentioned.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16750292879037409647noreply@blogger.com
